About

Founded in 2018 by filmmaker Izabela Silva, Abre Caminho Filmes is an independent Brazilian production company based in Minas Gerais and operating between Brazil and Barcelona.

The company develops and produces auteur films and cultural initiatives committed to gender equity, audiovisual memory, audience development and the circulation of contemporary cinema across Ibero-America.

Our approach

Our projects bring together creative documentary, audiovisual heritage, historical research and social investigation. Beyond film production, we create spaces for criticism, curatorial practice, education and cultural exchange.
